My cat can’t get enough of it!

    USLos Angeles, CA

Only have had this for about a week but so far, so good. Takes a while to charge, but the charge does last quite a while. It’s nice having three different speed modes; one is very fast, one is a bit more moderate, and the third is more of a stimulation setting with short bursts and more erratic movement. Easy to pull apart and clean any hair that may build up around the rotating points. Takes a lot to get stuck, too (usually only if it finds its way into a tight space). The cats absolutely love it!

When we got a new puppy we needed something to give him a bit of play. This may be advertised as a cat toy but it quickly became his favorite. Hours of fun entertainment to our amusement and delight. We have now purchased three as he loves to chew the attachment for the tail. Well worth the money.

My 8 lb Yorkie absolutely loved this toy but he destroyed it within 2 hours of us receiving it. I wish the Rubben around the toy was more se cure & durable. I had to take the toy from him within a couple of hours after we received it though. I was disappointed & he was walking the around the rest of the day like he lost his best friend.

    Fun but a bit noisy

    USSan Diego, CA

This toy is manic! If you have a cat that happens like to chase things that move abruptly then your cat will like this! I have a few cats and each one has their own play style and every one of them went after this. It takes a while to charge it up, but that’s expected. It also lasts a long time keeping in mind it again sporadically started itself and scared the crap out of you as it flies wherever it’s going so you don’t want that to happen I was just taking it and turning it off it also makes them play with it more if you take it away when they’re done using it so they can’t just willy-nilly play with it and be bored. You only give it to them sometimes and it makes them always play with it. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, especially with cat toys. !! is high-quality. It gets a good grip on the floor. It takes off with a lot of torque. And it changes directions back-and-forth rapidly, which is pretty hard for somebody to do on the floor that is not heavy at all. I wouldn’t let my cat chew on this because it has rope on it and if you have a cat, you know that. The same value is cute and you’d be surprised because it takes off somewhat noisy, especially on the hard floor and I would expect my cats to not like it, but because it takes off so violently.(it’s not the type of violence to hurt somebody lol) that they takeoff just as violently after it. It’s fun to watch them. Have a good time because usually they like to be slow in stalk things, but this thing is not having it! It takes off and it stops abruptly and it goes in the other direction multiple times like it’s trying to juke them and then it takes off running. I bought two of them cause I know that they’re going to run one down and then I’ll have the other one ready to go and I can charge the other one. It comes with a replacement rope in case they go crazy on it. If you do have women in the house, I’ve advised to pick up the toy when you’re using it and inspect the sides of it as anything with wheels in a house with women will end up with tons of hair wrapped around the axle until the item is dead cause it’ll burn out trying to push against the hair. Long hair is very strong. It’s enough to stop a vacuum cleaner after a while. Like a plug-in vacuum cleaner, lol so make sure you pick it up when they’re done with it and just take out any hairs that the item may have got wrapped up. It’s not a hard thing to do and anything has wheels should have this service done to it every time it avoids a long time having to take out a chunk of hair, which is kind of cathartic to me anyway which has the word cat built in so what else you want what else do you want??! It’s a psychotic toy for your crazy cat. If you’re already here then you know.!! you’re crazy cat will enjoy it and thank you! It’s not chewable I would say it’s not chewable it’s not meant to be . Anything with rope should not be true or should be completely supervised always which is usually not why you buy a cat toy that runs around the house by itself. Amen!

My cat really likes his toy and I like this toy also because it goes really fast and she likes to chase it and it doesn’t seem to give up. THE ONE THING I HAVE AGAINST IT IS THAT IT IS VERY FAST AND VERY STRONG AND IT KIND OF SCARES MY CAT. I THINK SHE NEEDS TO GET USED TO IT AND THEN IT’LL BE OK SO IN CONCLUSION I WOULD GET THIS I WASN’T GONNA KEEP THIS.
It took a few days for her to get used to it, but now it is her favorite toy. This toy is worth it. She was scared at first, but she’s over that now and she’s running all over the place chasing it and having a good time it’s giving her the exercise that she needs. I highly recommend this toy. The only drawback is that it gets stuck so that you have to really be on top of it.

This ball drives my cat nuts. She chases it everywhere and man, it has a mind of it’s own. I run it on the “carpet” mode even though I have all hardwood floors. It slows it down a little bit but it has a little more power and gives her more of a “fight” when she catches it. It has a randomness to it that throws her off sometimes which makes her hunt all the more. It also randomly starts moving after being still for a long period of time. This triggers her hunt mode as well and she’s been known to drop whatever else she was doing because she heard the toy start up.

My only “issue” with this toy is not really an issue. Just a fair warning that this toy will find crevasses and holes you didn’t think it’d fit in…and get stuck. I’ve also had a few times now where the tail went missing. That’s how much she plays with it that she completely unscrews the replaceable tail. Luckily it comes with a second one which I swap out. When I find the lost one, I normally use that time to also wash it and get it cleaned up.

Great toy and one that I’ve since bought another as a backup.

At best I thought my 2 older cats would enjoy chasing this. At worst I thought they might be nervous or frightened. I didn’t think they would just ignore it which is what they do. They couldn’t care less.
My grandchildren and the corgi enjoy it though.
Do remember to turn it off completely at night-that scritchy scratchy squeaky scurrying noise is not comforting to wake up to in the middle of the night.

Buy this one immediately. I’ve used the ones that have the feather attached to the back and the thing that looks like a fishing worm. They were just alright. The problem with those ones is they would shut off after a few minutes and stay shut off. The feathers also didn’t survive and the worm really didn’t give the cats somewhere to grab.

None of that is the case with this model. It came with two strings similar to the string from your sweatshirt that your cats always trying to steal. This gives them a place to hang on to. It also came with a backup one just in case the first one gets destroyed. Attaching them is a breeze. They just screw on and off.

It runs for 5 minutes and then shuts off for an hour and then will start again for 1 minute UNLESS the cat bops it or pulls on that string and then it starts back up for 5 minutes. This means I don’t have to go searching for it every couple of minutes to turn it back on which is an A+ in my book.

Lastly this model has 3 different settings: fast, slow, and interactive. It chirps with all three of them. Which means my cat was chirping back at it.

My cat loves it. He was able to pick it up and carry it around by the string, which is super soft. He chirps at it, chases it across the house, bops it and gets it restarted again. Keeping my cat entertained for a while. It’s absolutely worth every penny.

The cats love to follow this toy around and one of them occasionally catches it by the tail. Its rechargeable and stops and starts at random intervals to keep the cats interested and save battery. It is however very loud and a bit annoying for the humans. I wouldn’t recommend using it at night if it can roll into your room as its loud and lights up. I think this is a great toy to pull out and use every once in a while

This has been the most interactive toy I have ever seen! My yorkie loves it!! He plays with it all over the house and it keeps him entertained so I can get some stuff done. It’s really fast on hard surfaces like tile or hardwood. It has a rope that screws on with a plastic adapter and there’s a second rope when that piece wears out or gets lost. It charges with a C charger. It has a long life battery. It runs, then pauses just long enough for the animals to wonder if it has stopped, then it takes off again. Great toy!!!

The cat was a little afraid of it at high speed, so tried the low speed.
Apparantly, the string was the most interesting part.
Finally, the cat took a few swipes at it, but then watched it from the corners of the room.
Now, the cat doesn’t even bother to look.

WAY TOO FAST and aggressive. Cats avoid it. It runs into them so hard and fast, they’re kinds scared of it actually. They need to gear the motor down or put simple clutch system in the unit, so it doesn’t RAM into things, and cats, like a weapon.

    Decent toy for the price

I recently adopted a 4-year old “pandemic cat” that had been living feral for 6 months. He is super sweet BUT he LOVES Playing and doesn’t have an off switch. I tried playing with him BUT he can’t seem to tell “playtime” vs snuggle or sleep time and uses his claws & teeth when I pet him if I have played with him that day. NOT super bad but claws are sharp sooooo… I thought maybe I will get him an interactive toy he can play with by himself. If I don’t play with him, his manners are wonderful & he never forgets & uses claws or teeth but he wants to play.
He is big & all the pictures showed these cute little kittens or cattins & he weighs 14.2 lbs (all muscle) & he plays HARD. He chases his own tail & reaches thru his back legs, grabs his tail & does somersaults, he slides into furniture & walls & slithers under almost anything to get whatever he is chasing… all claws out! He likes chasing things.. a LOT! The 1st toy I tried just annoyed him. The 1st setting on this one was the fast setting. He was curious but not too keen… then I tried the slow setting… same thing but a bit more interest. BUT when I turned on the interactive mode he was in heaven! It will sit still until he bats it & then it will bounce & chirp. He LOVES that it will come after him & he will jump on it & “eviscerate” it with his back claws as it vibrates. Then he will pick it up by the rope & carry it around as it buzzes & squeaks. After a while he will take a break & so will the toy. It will sit quietly for an hour or so (I haven’t timed it) then it will start up again. JUST purrfect!!
I let it charge overnight & it last all day long. I don’t have carpets & it goes over every bump & under everything & back out again. It is a bit noisy & is NOT for homes with delicate surfaces or tippy furniture. BUT if you have a super playful big cat give it a shot! AND don’t forget to grab it & charge it before bed or it will scare the heck out of you just as you are going to sleep. LOL
It will also get every dust ball under every piece of furniture in your home! For the 1st few days I was using a damp paper towel to get the dust “kittens” off of it every couple of hours because he would stop playing with it if it had too much fuzz on it & look at me with disgust. I wouldn’t want a mouthful of dusty cat fur either and I am not great at dust mopping under cabinets & couches… obviously! Now I don’t have to… it brings them out to me. Bonus!!
1 wk UPDATE = Today I could not get it to turn off until I realized he had shifted the silicon outer shell so it was no longer over the “On/Off” button. I just opened up the flap for the usb port & squished the outer silicon shell until the hole in the cover was back in place over the USB port… now the “on/off” button is also in place. Problem solved.
PRO-TIP = By the way, if you cant get the usb port cover to close. It has a lip kinda thing on it & goes in at an angle NOT straight in. That way it doesn’t pop open when they are playing with it.
2 wk update = This will spoil your cat for “normal” toys. He has now become totally enamored with the toy on all speeds!
WARNING!!!! Since he is a messy eater, I put a Terro liquid ant trap in the corner under a cabinet where they came in. He couldn’t get under it BUT the toy could. It knocked over the trap & got covered in the ant bait & he got it in his mouth. It is only borax in syrup BUT it still made him sick. So, I have to get help to move the cabinet, clean up the mess & seal up the entry point before I can let him play with it again. And, the ball is sort of washable. I would NOT suggest immersing the ball BUT I disconnected the rope “tail” & thoroughly washed it & used a soapy paper towel & got all the sticky liquid off the ball. AND called an animal poison center before I did any of that. Good thing he is so big. His tummy was upset for a couple of days… NOT the toys fault but figured I would mention it. This toy goes EVERYWHERE & whatever it rolls in the cat gets in its mouth.

The toy works exactly as described for about a week. It holds your pet’s attention: it shimmies shakes rolls plays dead. Then the cover rips off and the pet can’t really play with it. I think that’s not enough time, so I was going to return it. Can only be returned at Whole Foods for free unless you want to pay$8 at UPS to return a $14 toy. 🙁

I originally left a 1-star review because the first ball I received arrived covered in another cat’s hair (gross 😅). That said, the replacement process was fast and easy—I submitted the exchange on Sunday and received the new toy by Thursday (a day earlier than expected).

The replacement ball arrived clean and in clearly unused condition.

For context, I have a very picky Bengal cat, and finding toys that hold her attention for more than a minute is tough. I’ve tried similar automatic toys before (including a snail-shaped rolling toy), and those struggled on carpet and constantly got stuck. This one has been much better so far.

    What’s working well:
    – Moves smoothly on carpet without getting stuck
    – The trailing string is a nice touch and makes my cat more likely to chase it
    – Multiple speed modes — the fastest blue mode is too intense for my cat, but she likes the slower red mode with the sound turned off
    – Has actually kept her engaged longer than most toys we’ve tried

    Things to know:
This toy picks up everything on the floor. I vacuum regularly and was still shocked at how much dust/hair it collected after one lap around the bedroom. Not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of if you have pet hair or lint around.

Overall, after the replacement, I’m happy with the toy and would recommend it if you have a cat that enjoys moving toys—especially if you have carpet and have struggled with other rolling toys getting stuck.

Every cat owner figures out after a while that cats will play with and/or snub anything, it’s especially true with these cat balls. Some cats are simply too timid, and some love them.

This toy has 3 modes though I can’t see much distinction between them. It has a fast mode and a slow mode, which look about the same. I prefer to think of the fast mode as a “higher gear” that lets it move faster on thicker carpet. The third mode supposedly only turns the toy on when the cat smacks it, but it stays on anyway so it probably doesn’t work as intended.

It emits a chirping sound now and then, not too annoying, it doesn’t scare the cats. You can turn it off though, which is much appreciated.

The ball itself doesn’t seem to have any sharp edges, an improvement over past cat balls I’ve tried.

The bit of rope attaches to the ball with a thick plastic screw, and includes an extra, though the rope seems durable enough for play and chewing.

It has the same couple of motions every other cat ball I’ve tried has had, so obviously these are all clones inside with different shells. Still, it’s about as good as it gets for around $10.

If your cat isn’t scared-off by the RC-car-sound of the motor or put off by getting smacked in the face now and then, this could be their new favorite toy. Try gluing fur or something to the ring so it looks less plasticky, it might attract the cat more.

Fun toy, doesn’t stay active long enough. My cat doesn’t touch it, she only chases after it. I clean it and make sure that it’s free of any dirt/material, but it stops way too often. If it stayed active longer, it would be a lifesaver. But I have to constantly get up and touch it time and time again because my cat stops playing when it stops. If it were active longer, it would be a 5-star.

It’s a good size for cats and they like carrying it in their mouths by the string to bring it upstairs while I’m working. I like that there is three modes to choose from. Just be warned that it can get loud when it starts bumping into things especially against the walls. If you’re working from home, like I do, it gets annoying real quick. I saved the part that has the nib on it to push into the service to turn it on and off. He still plays with it, but I’m watching the plastic. I might cover ball with duct tape. Cats love it but it does not stay charged for very long. I keep it on the yellow setting which is intermittent setting. I thought it would stay asleep unless they touched like the interactive mat toy, but it does not. The interactive mat toy goes to sleep and is ready to start up the moment it is barely touched and it stays charged for a long time. This ball goes to sleep if the cats walk away from it but will randomly just start up repeatedly even while cats are sleeping. I understand its to entice them to play but after having to charge it after one day of use I now turn off and take out twice or day or so and charge still doesn’t last long. Ive had to charge it three times in one week.

My small puppies were mostly scared of it and it took a few weeks to get them to even start barking and jumping at it, but about 3 days ago they were finally brave enough to actually try to grab the rope. That was around day 28 of ownership. Day 32 it completely died and I was 1 day out from being able to return it to Amazon. Total play time over the course of a month – approximately 30-40 minutes. And yes, I did recharge it so it’s not a dead battery.

I gave this item 4 stars because it kept my five month old and 1 1/2 year-old little boy kitties entertained for quite some time. The problem with this item is that it is difficult to turn the “chirping“ off, is noisy in general, but then becomes even louder as it bangs off the walls and pieces of furniture. The toy has become a waste of money because the noise was so constant and distracting that I put it away permanently.

    Fun little toy

Stops working. The first one I ordered worked great out of the box, but I couldn’t get it to charge and turn back on. I thought it was a fluke and exchanged it. The second one also worked great out of the box, but I had the same problem again. After trying for days, I can’t get it to charge or turn on. Clearly not a fluke after all. I didn’t realize until it was too late since we rotate out the cat toys to keep their interest.

It is a fast paced cat toy. It has speed, rolls away, flips and flops the trailing rope. When it hits an object it rolls the other way. One of cats loved the chase. It was too much of everything for my other cat, who would just watch from afar. I didn’t find the noise of it hitting furniture or chirping annoying at all, unless I was on a call. I was fine putting up with it for my cats enrichment, but now it’s just a lump on the floor since it no longer works.

Noting also that it collects long human hair like crazy. I thought my vacuum did a decent job, but this thing wins the long hair collecting contest – at least it did when it was working, before it needed recharging.

Would’ve gladly recommended if it would just do it’s one job. It’s a shame since my cat loved it.

My cat loves this toy. It can entertain her for hours, literally. The battery life is sufficient too. I like that it has different speeds, but the problem is WHY i like the different speeds: at the highest speed, which is the most entertaining, this toy is far too loud for apartment dwellers. It slams against baseboards, makes this really annoying clacking noise against the floor. Probably an excellent toy for if you have a house, but i’m concerned this is disruptive to my neighbors, so I will be putting this toy on the back burner

This is a cool idea. A cat toy that just rolls around randomly and suddenly, mimicking the unpredictability of say, a mouse. I have two ragdolls. One is an adult, and she’s very chill. The other is a kitten, and she is absolutely batbleep crazy. She’ll play with anything. The adult, Luna, wasn’t interested. That’s not too surprising, because she needs to be in full play mode even to play with their favorite toys. I expected my kitchen Mishka to love it. And she wanted to. But it kind of scared her at the same time. Its soso random, and soso sudden…. that if it weighed very little like a mouse would, or like a regular cat toy would, she probably would have been all about it. But it’s kind of heavy for its size. It has some weight. And even though she played with it a little bit. Every time it rolled into her it startled and kind of scared her. Once you got used to it a little bit she started playing with the tail on the end a little bit, but she more so followed it around and was curious and wary then she was excited to play with it. But I don’t want to give this one or two stars, because there might be some cats out there that really love it. Particularly full grown adult cats that are more playful than Luna.

This item looked new in the box, but as I removed it I noted some ‘fuzz’ on the rubber cover. I charged it, then tried to use it. It would not respond to pressing the ON location. I peeled the cover back and could see the internal switch module was not where the rubber extension could reach it, in fact it was broken away from the circuitry. I also noticed the rubber cover had a lot of small cuts. Is this a repackaged USED item????

Neither of my cats would play with it at all. They’re both WAY too scared of it, even on the slow setting, and they found the chirping stressful, like it was harassing them. They really hate it so so much. If I turn it on they both just leave. Quickly. I wish I returned it before I ran out of time, but I didn’t, so that’s my bad. Really threw away $17 for a way to scare my cats out of the room if I need to clear an area quickly for some reason, I guess.

That said, I think a braver or more mischievous cat would really like it. I was very impressed with it personally, I noticed it rarely got stuck anywhere, had good range of motion and intrigue with its frequent changes of direction and how it shakes its tail before taking off. If I were a cat, I’d chase the heck out of it. >:(

First, it is too big for your regular cat. I really don’t know why except that the electronic innards of the device require much space? Second, what is it with the obnoxious blinking? Did the designers think cats will be attracted to a lightshow? Third, it is LOUD. Fourth, I can already predict that it will not last long, not because of excited play with my cats (they hate it and won’t have anything to do with it) but poor design and cheap parts. The little rubber cover for the USB is prone to fall off (it did so on another toy I had bought). Furthermore, the second time I tried to turn it on, I elicited only a sluggish response and multiple attempts were required for success. Save yourself the money no matter what the ‘cat daddy’ says.
